I seem to remember seeing that some of the configuration for the RV-12 was already handled and some of the settings should not be changed. Am I dreaming or is it so?
Yes, this is correct. Most of the settings are pre-set, and some of those can't be changed by design (things like v-speeds). You only really need to do airplane-specific calibrations such as fuel tanks and magnetic heading.
