I've got a 10" Skyview installed in a new panel I've built for my RV-6. I have the screen powered up and have got it working with the GPS & Adahrs. I even got it talking to a Garmin 396 last night. Today I went to turn it on again to check settings and nothing. No screen flicker, no anything on the screen. I do get an orange light on at the RJ-45 jack in the back. Naturally the question is do I have power. Yes it's powered by a motorcycle battery with a charger keeping it topped of. Yes polarity is correct. I have not touched the wiring since I had it working and talking to the Garmin. I read 14.5 volts at the circuit breaker feeding the skyview. I unplugged everything from the unit except the main power harness. I pulled out the network wire to the adahrs, I disconnected the GPS-250, and unplugged the wires going to the garmin. I tried the 1,2, & 5 reboot buttons, Still nothing. Help!

For what it is worth i had the same problem and found it was a current drain issue with the battery i was using..I brought a new 12v battery and have it connected to a battery charger and I have not had an issue. Try another heavy duty one and see.

cheers

Hugh,

You hit the nail on the head. I read your post and went downstairs and put a bigger fully charged battery on and it booted right up. Very strange. All I can figure is it takes a fairly large surge when it first comes on. It's so fast you can't see it on the voltage meter. I was reading 14.6 volts but when the screen tries to power on it must pull the volts down too low to start. It happens so fast that you still read 14.6. Thanks so much for your help, I was gettin' worried.
