Just got my DEK-180 today !!! Thought I would install the internal battery just for grins......According to the installation manual (on the very last page and not mentioned in any index) the battery door has "two phillips head screws". The only possible thing that looks like a battery door on my unit has two small hex screws and the hex wrench that was included with the unit DOES NOT FIT ANY HEX on any part of the unit ? What's it for then ??? And is this door the battery door ? I don't want to start cranking on this thing and break it, I waited for almost two years to get it.

I see that the manual says "back" of the unit, but it really should say "side." I forget exactly which side it's on, but it should be obvious- it's a flat 1" x 1.5" door with two screws. The other side has no door at all.

The allen key is to install the unit in the tray. Page 4-10 of the install manual tells you how to do this. It goes into the lower left corner of the front of the D180.

Okay,
Thanks I figured that was it. I just don't have a hex wrench that small at the moment. Seems a phillips head screw would have been a better fastner. Those hex head can strip quite easily over time.

They used to be philips, now some of them are hex heads. Being that they only get opened up once or twice in the life of the product, both fasteners work fine.
