Hello Support

I've been trying to install the latest IFR Approach Plates on my ''Properly Prepared '' USB stick and for some reasons it doesn't work.

I always get this message

'' There was a problems Installing IFR APP Plates ( Actual Plates Files ) to the Generic Chart Data''

I tried reformating the USB Stick but it still doesn't load..

All the other Maps ( IFR Low & High ) Flite Guide are loading normally..

Any Idea what is wrong here...I need the new plates ..

Thanks

Bruno

Hi Bruno - So that part of the process - getting the data from the Seattle Avionics servers onto the stick via their Data Maager - is something you may need to reach out to Seattle Avionics for some more technical help with. But to start, you might try completely uninstalling the Data Manager and deleting all of the data it stores may help. We'd posted instructions for this here a while back to help solve a similar issue people were having when charts were new.

Also, how big is the USB memory stick that you're using?

Hello Support

I've tried doing that ( Deleting all data and the Data Manager ) and it still doesn't work for some reasons.

I tried with 2 different USB Stick ( Both 32 Gigs )..

I'll give a call to Seattles Avionics and see if there is anything they can do..

Thanks for responding on something that is not really a Dynon issue.

Hello Support

I got a reply fairly quickly today from Seattle Avionics on my problems thanks in part from you forwarding my e-mail to them..

I thought about posting their reply here so it might help someone else someday

Here's what they told me to do and it worked.

It sounds like a file was corrupted during download. I suggest the following in Data Manager:

1. Disable 'Allow simultaneous download' under Options
2. Select 'Open the download folder on this pc' under Advance
3. Delete anything with 'ChartData' in the name.
4. Delete the Plates from the USB Flash Drive
5. click Download Now

-----------------------------------------------------------

Thanks again for your help

Cheers

Same problem with just the IFR plates download on multiple computers. Followed the advice recommended and now both are working perfectly.

1. Disable 'Allow simultaneous download' under Options
2. Select 'Open the download folder on this pc' under advanced
3. Delete anything with 'ChartData' in the name.
4. Delete the Plates from the USB Flash Drive
5. Click Download Now
