Do you need to secure the D100, from "current spikes"? The feature of adding lists, such as checklists, are greate. However, if I am turning on my D100 before starting the engine - I would highly appreciate if anyone could advising me if the D100 has a built in "current spike protection" or if you need to add this while installating the product? /Greateful for an answer

All Dynon instruments are protected against surges, and it is fine to have them on while cranking our engine. They are designed to pass the test for avionics in piston aircraft, which includes 40V and 60V input spikes.

Most of our customers do hook the instruments to the master switch and have them on while the engine is started. This has never caused any problems.
