Definitely not usual, and for anyone out there that thinks that RF stuff isn't voodoo magic, here you have it. If you have the ability to move any antenna wires that might be going by the FlightDEK-D180 (or even if it isn't, if you can move it at all), that's probably the only thing I can think of for you to try. The working theory here, by the way, is that the circuit board that the buttons contact are someone acting as an antenna. Never heard of this sort of issue though. Get in touch with support at 425-402-0433 or support at dynonavionics dot com to send your unit in if playing with wires doesn't help.

A "competitor" had similar issues.

This kind of filter between the unit connector and the control head solved it.

Caution:  This is not the exact same problem or the same device.  This may do nothing to resolve your individual problem, and may cause other issues.

We have that kind of filtering and more already in the connector and unit, so I doubt it would help. We really have zero known EMI issues with the D100 products.

This is a very odd situation for sure.

I'm having similar issues on a composite airplane.

Com 1 PTT = D120 alarms, EGT/CHT shows -99C.  System recovers and all parameters read correctly after settling down in flight.
Some radio frequencies worse than others.

Com 2 PTT = no issues.

Swapped antennas (all coax is RG400 low loss) - problem is still there with Com 1

Tried 'clamp on' ferrites to Dynon wiring looms and Com antenna cables but no real change.

The answer may be that the Com 1 is just below (.5") the EFIS and that there is EMI into the wiring loom.  I'll try some MU metal shielding and willadvise this group.
