Hi,
I will be doing my project on building a cockpit and I'm new to this avionic system.
What I want to ask is, I've bought SV-D700 and SV-ARINC-429.
Without using Garmin 430/530, what type of commands can the ARINC 429 support because I'll be using the Lx429-5 interface board. Is there any sample or template?
And as for the fans behind the display, it starts turn upon powering up, but stop after awhile. Is the fans operating normally?

Sorry if these questions have been answered. I tried to use the search function, but I still don't understand. I'm new to all these.

The fan behavior is normal.

It uses a subset of the GAMA 429 messages. Here is a PARTIAL listing of the types of labels that are sent and received: http://wiki.dynonavionics.com/Generic_ARINC-429_Wiring. We don't have a more complete list currently available.

Re: Skyview GPS module

The skyview GPSmodule is not detected during configuration and an "position fail" message appears on EFIS screen.   Aircraft is currently in tent shelter and not able to move outside.

Is the error due to the fact that the GPS cannot "see" satellites?

If yes, is there any other way to test connectivity and operation of GPS module without moving aircraft outside?

Thnx for the help

Sounds like you may not have the SV-GPS-250 set up as a serial device. It is not a SkyView Network device, and won't show up on the detection. Please review the section in the manual that goes through the setup and configuration of the SV-GPS-250 (page 8-1 and beyond in the current rev H of the manual)

I have connected the display and ADAHRS-200 module.
But under the network status, it shows offline.
What am I doing wrong here?

Have you gone through the network detection process? What is the light on the ADAHRS doing?

What do you mean by the network detection process? The light on the ADAHRS module is blinking when power on.

There are a couple of steps that you need to go through before the display will communicate with the ADAHRS. These steps are all detailed in the installation guide if you go through it in order. In particular, take a look at page 4-8 of the current revision (Rev H as of this post).

For the connection between the display and ADAHRS, can I use SV[ch8208]NET[ch8208]6CC instead of SV[ch8208]NET[ch8208]10CP? Are they the same?

You can use any network cable to hook the AHRS to the screens. All of our networks cables are interchangeable, the only difference is the length.

The AHRS has magnetic sensors in it, so it cannot be too close to the panel area. That would be our only concern with a 6' cable connecting an AHRS to a screen.

Must pitot, static and AOA of ADAHRS be connected so it can work?
Because I never connect any of them. And the display states ADAHRS's status as offline.

I connected a 6CC cable, and on the display I wen to network setup > configure. There's no detect label available, but it shows ADAHRS status offline. And I noticed that the serial number of the ADAHRS on the display is different from the ADAHRS physical serial number.

EDIT: ADAHRS is now working. How about the SV-MAP-270 software? I have read 6-11 of the installation guide. It suppose to display a map on the right of the display right? Must I connect any hardware to make it work?

From the main menu of the SV press the SCREEN button. From there you can turn on and off the three pages available PDF PG | EMS PG | MAP PG. The Layout button lets you arrange them as you like.

I did that. But It only shows a black screen with a few instruments and an aeroplane with a question mark on it.

The question mark means it's getting data from the GPS but the GPS does not yet have a position lock. This can take a few minutes the first time, and you need to have the GPS in a place with a clear view of the sky (not in a hangar).

You can use any GPS, and in fact you have one hooked up or you wouldn't have a question mark. But whatever GPS you use needs to get a lock before we can show the map.

From these transmission labels, http://wiki.dynonavionics.com/Generic_ARINC-429_Wiring
How do we enable the HS34 to transmit one of the label?
