Question about SV-XPNDR-261 and non-USA usage

I'm building an RV-9A and intend to use the Dynon SV-XPNDR-261 transponder, which should satisfy the FAA 2020 ADS-B Out requirements. Will it also satisfy whatever similar requirements [will] exist in Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas, in case I want to fly to those countries? What about Central American countries?

None of the countries/areas you list have a Mode-S or ADS-B mandate, so it is impossible to promise that we will meet any future rule. However, it seems incredibly improbable that if they ever required it, they would require something that goes above and beyond what the USA, Europe, or Australia require, which would require every airliner in the world to upgrade.
