Question re: Low-Alt Grayed-Out Sectional

Love my SV!  Learning more about its capabilities on every flight.  I noticed that when I first take-off and below @ 2,000' AGL, the Sectional's depiction is somewhat "muted" or slightly grayed-out.  At @ 2,000' AGL (?), the Sectional's depiction goes to bright and clear.

What is causing this low altitude grayness?  --  Is it related to the overlaying Terrain warning function? Does the Sectional go bright and clear when the aircraft is some defined height above an area obstacle?

Re: Question Low-Alt Grayed-Out Sectional

Grey shouldn't be associated with terrain in any way I can think of. Do you have weather turned on? This may be the weather "coming alive". Before you have WX data, we put a slight purple tint anywhere we don't have data yet. This way you know it's lack of data for WX, not clear skies.

Could be the WX overlay - I'll check that out on my next flight. Thanks!
