Radio form factor?

Greetings,
What will the eventual radios be like? Will these be units mounted out of sight and controlled through the screens (think G1000) or panel-mount devices with their own knobs and displays (think Avidyne Integra)?

Personally I would prefer separate radios, for these reasons:
1) simplifies learning curve for round dial pilots
2) more intuitive all around
3) fewer softkey flows; fewer keystrokes to work the radios
4) easier to upgrade classic Dynon-equipped aircraft that already have radios
5) can maybe be used in aircraft without SkyView
6) SkyView is going to launch without the radio modules, so to be used, pilots will have to use panel-mount radios at least for awhile.

And a completely unrelated question: Both of the sample images provided of the screens each show a 1/2 split screen. I imagine there will be full screen pages as well?

Adam,
The radios are too far off for us to make any promises or even great descriptions. We very well may have different options for the control, so we may sell versions that have knobs and work alone and those that only use SkyView. It's highly likely the fist version we start selling will require a SkyView.

The actual radio/intercom box will be remote, not panel mounted.

If you really are anywhere near to buying a radio, I don't think Dynon will have any options for you before you buy.

As for Skyview screens, any SkyView screen can display a full screen EFIS, EMS, or MAP. It can also display any combination of the three.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your very fast reply. I did not expect a reply on a Saturday.

And no, I'm nowhere near buying a "install in airplane" type radio. I'm toying with the idea of manufacturing a light sport aircraft in a few years, so I was just curious as to the general concept of what the finished, complete idea was going to be.

Again, thanks for the reply, and keep up the good work!
