(Rare) "Cross-check Attitude"

Every once in a very great while, on initial power-on of SV, I get a "cross-check attitude" on the screen for a few minutes. It then goes away, and all is well.

I couldn't find that error message listed in the manual. I have a single ADAHRS. Any ideas?

I'm having trouble relating that paragraph to why it would come up immediately after booting up, on the ground, not moving, prior to the first flight of the day...?

I have seen this happen in the chocks myself. If I remember correctly, it was gusty so airspeed indication came and went and GPS was inconsistent for a bit.

Support, does that sound right as a scenario?

So when you get that error, click the COMPARE button, and you can see the differences in the instruments between the two ADAHRS in real time. That will at least let you get a better idea of what's going on.

Actually, we were mistaken. "Cross check attitude" occurs when you have no airspeed, and GPS speed comes and then goes. It's not a message based on having two AHRS units and them disagreeing, which is when you would get COMPARE.

Do you happen to have a Garmin GNS (430/530) or a Garmin GTN? These "fake" 150 knots as they boot and can sometimes confuse us, depending on if another GPS is online or not.

Aha...yes, I do indeed have a 430W (and a single ADAHRS, btw).

That probably explains it...the 430W is spoofing 150 kts while the SV GPS has not yet acquired lock or something like that...

As long as I know what's causing it, and that it's not a failure of any equipment or communications between boxes, I'm good...

That's exactly it. If the 430 comes on line and says 150 knots but the SV-GPS-250 has not yet acquired, then it uses the 430 and believes its LIES ;)

We actually hope to fix that in a future software release, but for now, that's the deal.

I too have the same issue once in a while and like the OP I have a G430W, an SV-GPS-250 with a single ADAHRS. This makes total sense.
