Just completed the swap out of my NON AOA heated pitot with a new Dynon AOA heated pitot tube.
Hardest part was routing a new green poly tube from the wing to the ADAHRS in my tail space of my Glastar. This was simplified by routing the new tube down the wing strut and avoiding the complex routing past the gas tank inboard of the pitot tube. Once that was done, it only took a couple of hours to remove the old unit and attach and wire the new unit. The heater controller was mounted on the inside of the wing skin just above the pitot tube. Configuration and calibration took a half hour of flight on a beautiful march day. I waited too long to add this feature to my skyview.
so happy now to have the AOA display and especially the unmistakable aural tone in my headset. In an emergency forced landing this thing will be watching out for my butt. Cool
