Probably a corrupt file. Try downloading again. You may want to try formatting the thumb drive before downloading.

The thumb drive also needs to be ejected before pulling it out of the USB socket on the computer. It can get corrupted if it's not removed properly. Right click the drive in the Windows Explorer and select Eject from the menu. Windows will notify you that it's safe to remove the thumb drive.

Might be good to also reformat the flash drive before trying again.

As other's have said, it's most likely a USB stick stick issue. You could also try using method 2 to see if that changes anything (downloading the package piecemeal). What version are you coming from?

I had the same issue and had to get two new flash drives, and ultimately, had to install from the rear USB port, not the harness port. After that, it worked fine.

Ok,thanks. I was attempting to go from 14.0 to 14.2
I will try the suggestions. I have been upgrading for years, think I started with version 3.0.

Ok,thanks.  I was attempting to go from I deleted all the files on the memory stick, formatted it, reloaded the14.0 to 14.2 data, same problem again. I guessed correctly that the DOWNLOADED file of 14.2 was the culprit, deleted it and downloaded again, everything went just perfectly this time. Thanks for all the help.
I will try the suggestions.  I have been upgrading for years, think I started with version 3.0.
