Restore Vans RV-12 EMS Screen Layouts?

I believe that when I initially installed and started up my RV-12 Skyview system, in the process of loading in the current aviation databases I may have loaded in a Dynon standard ROTAX screen settings file. It might have been EMS_912_121311.dfg and sensor_12_16_2011.sfg for the new fuel pressure sensor (which I have).

This might (?) have overwritten the Vans settings? I would like to restore the standard Van's supplied layouts (which include a stall button and a wing spar pin button and some other differences) but obviously do NOT want to lose my fuel calibration data entry or any other similar entries! How do I do this?

Thanks, Bill_H

The attached file is the one that came loaded on your unit. Let us know if it doesn't do the trick.

Actually, this does assume you have the newer Kavlico fuel pressure sender. I think the RV12 SkyView packages were available exclusively after the switchover, so i think all of them have the newer sensor.

I do have the new sensor but it is because I purchased it. Some of us in the transition already were shipped the old one and getting the new one was optional. Please confirm that installing this will not overwrite my fuel tank level calibration! Thanks, Bill

I believe the new file will overwrite your fuel/flaps/etc. calibrations.

To save them export your current settings from Skyview, open the *.dfg file that was exported with a text editor and look for the "user_cal={" sections. Copy that section and insert it in the new file Dynon supplied just ahead of the "egt_ranges={" section.

There may be more to it then that, but if you export your current settings and save them you can always try again if it doesn't work the first time.

The file from above will not overwrite any user calibrations.

Ok - I'm confused. If I export the file and hand tweak it, when I reload it it overwrites the settings. How come this file doesn't?

The file above has been edited to not have any user cal sections in it, so that it does not overwrite that stuff. It's not just a simple export from one unit, it's a file that has been hand edited to only update the elements that are important for the RV-12.
