Hi,

I'm helping with a friends project that has been neglected for over 5 years. The D10A flashes a screen briefly about once a second when the unit is powered. If the backup battery is disconnected, the unit comes on normally. I assume the backup battery is completely DEAD.
Would you expect the backup battery to take a charge and if so what's the best way to charge it?

Regards,

Roy

First, update the EFIS-D10A's firmware without the battery connected. Then, see if connecting the battery will allow it to power up and charge the battery. If the battery was in a discharged state and had been stored for years, it may have self-discharged (all batteries do slowly) to a level at which it it has been damaged. If it still won't take a charge after the firmware update, you'll need to buy a new battery.
