"Rmote comp not detected" on D10A after plant RMA

My D10A did not work correctly after installing 5.1.1. Per your instructions I shipped it back with an RMA. I now have it back and installed it today. I now get the message "Remote compass not detected." I've never had one installed.

Any chance 5.1.1 was re-loaded at Dynon with a remote compass installed? Would my re-loading 5.1.1 without the external compass fix the problem? Can I install 5.1.1 on top of itself? Any suggestions - I no longer have the heading strip visible on the panel...

Thanks...

You need to re-do your compass calibration. This will remove the error message and will bring back the heading strip.

Fuselage is still in my basement - can I perform the internal mag calibration without rotation?

Thanks...

No, you can't. You need airspeed and bank and rotation to calibrate the internal compass.

If you really want your heading tape back before you actually fly, then if you take a backup of the unit and send it to us, we can fix it. But the heading will be really, really wrong until you calibrate it.

Hi,
The D10A 5.1.1 firmware has been backed up and compressed into a ZIP file.  Where shall I e-mail it and what info should be sent along with it?  The fuselage and D10A are aligned to 270 in the basement...

Thanks...
