Yesterday I got the ROLL ERROR message and the AP would not work in Roll. Had to hand fly a 30 minute flight...not so bad in a RV-6. After shutdown and startup it worked fine on the next leg. Any idea why this would happen. :-?
Fundamentally it means that the roll servo has gone away, either because of a wiring fault (could be power or data, although data is less likely now that the redundant data paths are active in SkyView), a data glitch which you may never experience again, or, a problem with the servo electronics, which may cause a recurrence of the issue. If it recurs, give our tech support team a call at 425-402-0433 to work through it with them.
