ROP / PK / LOP not matching EGTs

Hi,

My engine is a Lycoming IO-540, and I regularly run LOP.  After reading a discussion on here, I recently noticed that my %power ROP / PK / LOP is not matching the EGT. In other words, the EGT reaches peak long after the %power indicator suggests the engine has gone over the PK and is indicating LOP.
Fortunately I lean by EGT, so no harm, no foul.

Is there some way I can correctly configure this, such that the PK indication matches my engine at all power settings - but without the %power becoming inaccurate as a result?

P.S. It is likely that my %power has been inaccurate all this time, seeing as the computer was inaccurate about the PK location?

I have the D120.  Thanks!

Yep - you need to fiddle with the horsepower number in your EMS settings. It's a bit of a misnomer. If you are getting an auto Lean-of-Peak indication that is coming on too early, before the engine actually peaks while leaning, lower the number. It is not meant to be a measure of actual horsepower produced, as engines that are more efficient will act as if they are lower horsepower in the calculation. This will be particularly true if you are running a higher compression ratio than the stock charts are based upon. FYI, this info is in the SkyView install manual (not that we expect you to look there), which has a bit more detail than the D180 on this function. Just a place for you to read for a little more background.

Ok - thanks for that.

Once I correct the number for a certain power setting, say 50% power (where I can run safely at peak EGT without damaging the engine) - will the calculation then be accurate at all power/mixture settings, after I have corrected it at one given power setting?

Or does the calculation only work at certain power/mixture settings?
