Rotax 912 Oil Pressure Issue

Since starting my 912 for the first time my oil pressure indication has fluctuated quite a bit. Yesterday while flying the pressure indication went to zero

Of course it wasn't real or the engine would have locked up quickly. As I throttled back on final the reading came back.

I've read about the Honeywell senders failing from vibration since mounted on the engine and I suspect this is the case here. But the engine only has 20hrs on it.

I don't really want to use the remote kit and mount the sender on the firewall due to another failure point being created. e.g. the hose.

Will the oil sender that Dynon sells part#101693-000 fit on the 912 in place of the Honeywell sender and will it work better than this unit.

Thanks

I understand your reluctance to remote mount the transducer however there are literally thousands of engines with transducers done this way (including certified aircraft) without any issues (if done right) & a lot of  transducer manufacturers recommend against engine mounting to reduce the risk of failure.

Customers report many problems with the Honeywell sensors, even with low-time use. We do recommend the new Kavlico part, #101693-000, but it will require an adapter. Our answer matches Jake's.
