Hi all, I'm new here so please be gentle!

I'm installing a skyview EMS with a rotax 912ULS.

With regard to the RPM connections, on reading the install guide I should be connecting pins 32,33 to the ROTAX-provided RPM pickup cable, coloured White/yellow and blue/yellow. I'm assuming that these wires ar 'left' and 'right' although I can find no mention of this in the ROTAX manual!

I've also read elsewhere on this board that it is no longer necesary to wire in-line resistors with the SV EMS unit.

Can anyone who's done this please provide me with the correct wiring configuration?

Many thanks for your response(s)!

Actually, you only use one of the RPM inputs with a Rotax engine. Doesn't matter which, but the manual arbitrarily specifies the left input in the manual. Check out page 6-27 in Rev E of the Installation manual.

Revision E does still say that the resistors are required for the RPM connection to the ROTAX 5th coil, but I've read on this forum that the hardware is able to cope without this additional complexity - is this true?

thanks,

You're right. You shouldn't need them. We'll update that in the next manual revisions.
