Planning a bit complicated route on the "old" skyview SV is a very time consuming job and I cannot take Skyview home to do it the night before.
Therefore i export a GPX file made up in Skydemon on PC to a stick and download it to Skyview before flight.
When I am travelling around however i hate to carry a bulky and always discharged PC in the plane.
Mini Ipad is perfect for this and also produces the GPX but cannot write to a stick.. i can mail it but Skyview has no mail. A USB WiFi or Bluetooth stick plugged into the SV and a bit of software would be the perfect solution .....future ?

Another way would be using the new touch option to make a much faster route by drag and touch like you do on iPad in a matter of seconds.
Does V10 allow for this or will it in future ?
I am about to buy 2 pc SV1000 for my new plane and was wondering if the additional cost for touch are worth it.

We've definitely got flight planning on our minds - nothing to talk about yet though.

Touch doens't have rubber banding, but it does make flight planning go much quicker. Pinch/zoom, tap the thing you're interested in, tap ADD>FPL, and then finally, use touch to drag it to the place in the flight plan you want it to go.

While updating the flight planning software, I would suggest also allowing for a multi-route flight plan for those that make multiple fuel stops while enroute to a more distant destination.

Yes, I endorse Mitch's idea to allow multiple fuel stops. It is something that aviation software writers seem to forget. We do occassionally stop for fuel!

Even on my highly expensive GTN750, it does a fine job of telling me how much fuel it takes to go where I am going, but I am blowed if I can find any way of convincing it that I am going to stop for gas halfway and would like to know how much gas I will have onboard, at the waypoint after that stop!

UPDATE! Sorry, I am maligning Garmin, they did think of this, but it seems my unit has a glitch. They have promised to fix it for me and it will then do what I want it to do. If only my wife could be fixed that easily!  ;D

However, a nice easy to use fuel planner with multiple refuel stops is still a nice to have

I am so spoiled by rubber banding my flight plans, I hope you guys are hearing lots about it. Choose point A and B then select your route right on the map based on current weather and terrain and airspace. There is nothing better that I know of and I do believe it would sell a lot of equipment! The moment I hear you are going to implement this feature is the moment I will sign up for a touch upgrade. I am sure the other touch features are nice but rubber banding is a must have.
