RS-232 DB9

I have the D180 with the HS34. Both have RS-232 DB9 connectors that came with my Approach Fast Stack cabling. Are both required or is only one necessary for updates and downloads?

You need both. One updates the D180, the other updates the HS34. Updating the D180 does not update the HS34.
