We're at the point where we have what we think is a final mounting bracket/kit for the RV-10 pitch axis, but we need to verify that it's installable and that everything works properly.
So, we're looking for someone that is ready to install and fly the kit right now. Ideally, your RV-10 is flying, already has the roll kit installed (though this isn't a requirement, we do have a preference for someone who is an early adopter and has been flying the AP already), and can install and fly the RV-10 pitch axis in short order after receiving it from us.
If this is you, or close to you, please send an email to betatest@dynonavionics.com, with the subject line "RV-10 pitch beta", with answers to the following questions. If we end up using you, you'll end up with your pitch axis free of charge, in return for your testing, iteration, and feedback.
0. Name, email, phone, location.
1. How many months/years have you been flying your aircraft? How many flying hours are on it?
2. Describe your mechanical aptitude. For example:
1. Do you happen to be an actual mechanical engineer?
2. If not, have you done mechanical design on your own, such as substantial modifications to your airplane?
3. Your aircraft may be the first aircraft of its type to have this equipment installed. Hence, unlike beta software testing, there will be a mechanical component that may require multiple iterations to get the installation just right. Does this coincide with your expectations? Rest assured that the servos have multiple failsafes, including a shear screw which can be broken with moderate stick force in the case of mechanical failure in the servo.
4. Are you able to install the RV-10 pitch axis mounting kit and servo immediately, and test fly it immediately?
5. Are you available to rapidly iterate with Dynon as we solve problems and have questions?
6. Comfirm that you have a digital camera to be able to send us pictures of your install.
