RV-12, 796-Skyview install

Im in the process of installing a 796 into a Skyview equiped RV-12. I piggy-backed the pin 10 on the SL-40 from the 796. With the Skyview powered ON the 796 can't tune the radio, a problem if you want to fly. With it off, it tunes it as advertised.

Haven't wired it to the Skyview as an additional NAV source yet.

Anyone else been down this road? Any advice that might keep me brom beating my head against a brick wall?

Pin 10 on the SL-40 is the Serial Receive line. You can only have one other thing hooked up to this. It sounds like Vans in the RV-12 has the SkyView hooked to this. If you want to hook up the 796 you'll need to physically disconnect the SkyView from this pin.

Dynon does have a SkyView update planned that will be able to tune the SL-40. You'll only be able to use the SkyView OR the 796, so consider which one you want hooked up.
