I was running up my airplane after cleaning plugs and I tuned off the master switch while the engine was running and the alt field was still on. The D100 and D120 screens went dark. They will not turn back on with the master but the D100 will run on internal battery power. I checked and do have power to the units. Any ideas or did I just make an expensive mistake. And yes everything is run through circuit breakers and niether popped. Don

Not sure why having the alt field on would cause any issues. In most wiring schemes, killing the master will kill power to the units, so no matter what your alternator did at that point it shouldn't matter. These units are designed to run at up to 45V and even 60V for a moment, so I can't imagine how you could have hurt them.

You'll have to dig through your wiring layout and see if you can figure anything out. If you really do have power to the units, at the D-sub connectors, then I guess you'll need to send them in to us. One thing to check is to turn the D100 on via the int battery and then go to the info item for voltage and look at your voltages. If "M" is showing zero volts with the master on, that's a good hint it isn't inside the unit.

Don't worry about the cost, we'll cover this if the units are damaged somehow unless something is really amiss (like you ran all your starter current through one or something ;) ).

Tried them in my friend's airplane and no joy. So I'll call Monday and get them in to you. Thanks Don
