I just received and email from Seattle Avionics which I am sure others of you received stating:
1. They became a partner of a global aviation company...wonder who???

As you may have heard, Seattle Avionics became part of a larger, global aviation company in late 2020. That gives us access to new technologies, a worldwide perspective, and a larger development organization.

2. Announcing that their FlyQ 6.0 product would be using digital maps & audible audio.

Global Digital Charts

The all-new Global Digital Map lets you see airports, navaids, airspace, airways, and waypoints around the world. Unlike a standard Sectional chart, the Digital chart is dynamically generated so offers a number of advantages:
1. Text remains readable no matter how the map is rotated (Track Up mode, for example).
2. The level of detail varies with the zoom level so the map shows you more detail as you zoom in and declutters as you move out.
3. You can select exactly which types of objects you want to see - airports, navaids, waypoints, or airways.
4. Use the new Digital layer over another base layer (Roads, for example) or standalone with a simplified, easy to read new background map.

Anyone know if this is going to trickle down to our Skyview subscriptions?

The company that acquired them is AV partners (https://afvpartners.com/)

I'm guessing the new company is going to want to monetize the lifetime subscriber customers so they will start releasing new feature as "pro" or some other name license that the lifetime subscription gets you just standard and you will need to pay for the add on or something. Just my 0.02 cents - worth what you paid for it.

I gather from ,the Dynon email this morning that is does somewhat, but doubt one would get flyq efb digital maps capabilities on the Dynon pfd
In the next version of SkyView and AF-5000 software, pilots can wirelessly transfer charts to their avionics displays using the Slingshot capabilities in Seattle Avionics’ FlyQ EFB app. This offers pilots an alternative to the current method, which involves loading USB memory sticks on a PC and physically bringing them to the aircraft.
