Hi,
I see in the latest revision of the Installation Manual it shows connection of the serial data line from the HS-34 as well as the other way. What functionality does this provide in the x96?

My installation does not have an HS34 and I currently have only one way data going to the D10A. Would there be any advantage in making the connection back the other way in this set up?
Thanks

The only use I know of for the input line on the x86 portables is flight plan crossfill from a capable GPS (430/530/480/etc.).

Only the HS34 can send data to a GPS, which is why it's only listed in the HS34 install, so there isn't any reason for you to hook it up.

Even with an HS34, the only time we send it data is when you also have something in the airplane that can send data to the x96, as Phantom mentioned.

Thanks,
I already have the crossfill (actually it is "downfill" as it only works in one direction - 430 to portable - crossfill really only applies between 2 x 430s/530s) - working with the 430, and it is a really great feature in flight).

So no need to change anything, But thanks for the advice, I was intrigued as to whether you were now putting airdata back on this line.
regards
