Cay you provide a little more information about downloading from my D180?  I see a reference to Hyperterminal and that it may be included with Windows?  Where would I find that and how do I get the feed out of the D180?  thanks.

The old (and still possible way) was to hook up a computer to the serial port and externally log data to a laptop using a serial capture program like hyperterminal. However, with the 5.0 firmware update, you can configure internal datalogging of practically all of the EFIS and EMS parameters. Take a look at the latest installation and pilots users guide for details about this capability. To extract the logged date, you use the same Dynon Product Support Program that you use to update the product.

Once one has down loaded the log file, is there any nice program for viewing the data? I know it can be viewed in a spread sheet but the data files can be quite large and spread sheets don't do this nicely. A dedicated program would be very helpful.

When you use the Dynon Product Support Program to connect your PC to the EMS and use a USB to serial adapter, what should the serial port on the PC be configured to for the following settings?

baud rate
data bits
parity
stop bits
flow control
Use FIFO buffers (yes or not)

Noe of those settings should matter. The support program overrides and uses it's own.
