I was reading the install manual and got confused about the serial connection. I am going to be making up my own harness. It appears that the serial connection, pins 9,10,and 22, are used both to connect to a PC to update firmware and to connect to the GPS to obtain airspeed data.
Pin 22 is the EFIS Rx pin on the D6. Do you parallel that wire into both a connector that will serve as the PC connector and also into the GPS connector?

It's really best to give yourself a way to disconnect the GPS when updating. The easiest way to do this is to wire the port like you want to for serial, and then make a mating D9 plug hooked to the GPS. Plug them together when you fly normally, pull it apart when you need to plug in the PC.

That's what I kind of thought. The serial connection is used for two purposes, but not at the same time.
