Serial Port Shortage

I just realized I don't think I have a way to install the ADS-B module.

I am using port 1 for the transponder, port 2 for the sl-30, port 3 for the vp-200 engine data, port 4 for vp-200 gps data and port 5 for dynon's gps.

I always thought I could use the transmit side of port 5 if I needed it.  I didn't think about the fact that the baud rate used by the gps makes the transmit side incompatible with about everything else.

Am I missing something?

It's unfortunate that Vertical Power needs two of SkyView's serial ports. As you've found, this is one of the edge cases that will cause us to run out of serial ports.

One option is to ask VP to support 38,400 baud for GPS data so that you can use our GPS port as GPS out as well.

You may also be able to hook another GPS up to the VP200 and not use us for GPS out.
