Serial Wiring

I'm planning my skyview installation, 2 screens, and have a question. I know serial devices should be hooked up to both screens in parallel. What about the serial outs and ins on ports not used? I'm planning on a Garmin 496 connected to both screens and maybe more devices. So I want to connect the serial outs and ins to a wiring block to make connections, later, easier. Does it matter if serial ports from the two screens are connected even though I have no serial device connected? Or should I leave them unconnected untill used?

There is some discussion on serial ports http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1290017431

My recommendation is to prewire everything in anticipation of future upgrades (new instruments). If you don't use a wiring hub like the one I've developed, just connect the wires and leave some service loops for access.

It won't damage anything to leave the inputs unconnected.

I saw the discusion. My question still stands, if I was to use your unit serial connections would be combined between the two screens, even when there is no device connected to those serial lines. IS THAT OK?

It's OK, you can't hurt anything by wiring it up the way Dynon recommends.
