SFirmware updates

Hello chaps -I made a mess of updating my system. D1000 shows EFIS & Map D700 showed Engine page. I forgot to download version 16-4 onto D700 after doing D1000. Its been a while since I had to follow this process and I mistakenly thought the Ethernet cable would handle it. I now have red crosses over a black D700 screen. Understand this is because the update was sync'd to the networked system devices including EMS so now they won't talk to the D700 stick that is on the outdated firmware version.
What I don't understand is that I can't update D700 to 16-4 now It just refuses to recognise the USB stick. Has anybody seen this problem, and would it be OK to disconnect the D700 from the rest of the network & try the update again.

Hi Maurice when I do my updates I always do it one screen at a time. I just power one on at a time ,update it then turn it off and do the other one. It has worked well for me so far.

Are you putting the thumb drive directly into one of the ports on the back of the display, or using the wiring harness USB? Often the wiring harness USB will cause these problems. Also try both ports on the back of the display.
