Shielding for xponder converter?

Reference D180 manual pages 2-4 & 8-31.

Regarding the EFIS DB25 connector pins 13 & 21. Should these black & green wires be shielded? Page 2-4 shows them being shielded but page 8-31 makes no mention of it.

If they are supposed to be shielded, how do I do that with the existing wires?

They don't need to be. This is an RS-232 serial output, which is pretty robust and noise-resistant without shielding.
