What is the max current rating of the 0-60A Shunt.

Now all you smarties out there......... I do not mean 60A....... I mean what will the shunt tolerate before causing it damage?

I would imagine its about a 400 amp fuse.... ;D

Where I want to use it I believe most loads will be under 50 amps, but there is a remote, highly unlikely chance at very short times a greater than 60 amp current could be passed.

Just dotting the 'i's and crossing the 't's.

Cheers

We've only tested to 60 amps and therefore that remains our "rating". But as you note, it's a big hunk of metal. Note that our ammeter display tops out at 99.9 amps. Momentary exceedances of basically anything from within in the airplane won't be able to kill it (your other wiring is going to cook first). You should not be running your starter current through it though.

Surely your customers are not that silly! ::)

The rest of the wiring is well protected. But its surprising when you add up all and I mean all the items radios etc and say are transmitting and extending flaps with all lights going....... 60 amps is exceeded.

So as long as its not going to be a problem in the 1 in 1000 chance I am happy  :)
