I asked the folks at Skyradar if their ($1200) ADS-B receiver would interface with Skyview..Here's their response:

"Hello,
In addition to WiFi we have USB output that appears as serial port on most computers. So if Dynon has USB input you can certainly interface our receiver to it. They just need to have software to be able to decode GDL-90 formatted data.
Btw per Dynon request our latest receivers designed to accept aircraft power directly from USB plug.

Regards, Alexey"

Can Skyview decode GDL-90 formatted data?

We cannot decode GDL-90 data today. That is a more complex format that includes Traffic and weather. We expect we will be able to decode this when we support weather, which should be in the first half of next year.

Today we can decode Garmin's 330 TIS format.

SkyView is not a desktop computer, so we don't have the drivers needed for USB connections. Plugging the USB into SkyView will have no effect.

We have talked to Skyradar at times and hope we can have a solution to support their product in some way soon. It is designed primarily to be a portable device that interface with an iPad over WiFi or a desktop PC, so there are some challenges.

Also, since their device is an ADS-B receiver only, you will need an ADS-B out device in the plane (like our Mode-S transponder) if you want to receive traffic with their device, since the FAA won't send you traffic if you aren't transmitting ADS-B data.
