I installed SV 10 on 31 Mar 2014 and felt I needed to close the loop on some open comments and problems discussed in assorted previous threads. I also upgraded to 10.1 and am currently running 10.2 Beta.
I have made 45 flights in an RV-12 using V.10.
#1 - I no longer have the problem of splitting a flight into numerous sub-flights and a large number of small files. Thumbs Up!
#2 - Not Dynon or SV problem, but my data downloads from Seattle Avionics have had their problems worked out and I can make smooth, reasonably fast, data downloads. I know Dynon did some behind-the-scenes arm-twisting in this regard. Keep twisting!
#3 - My oddball extended CHT temp bars have returned to their normal size and configuration.
#4 - Despite more than 30 years with tapes on glass panels, I longed for a six-pack presentation. Or thought I did. When V.10 came out, I brought it up first thing. Well - I've never gone back to the tapes! So I guess my yearnings were not fantasy.
I run it in the Plain Jane version - the SynVis background is too cluttered (one of my gripes with the old EFIS presentation.)
OK - new gripe - one I've submitted before: I would like Traffic Annunciations on the PFD screen without SynVis being turned on. This applies to either the original EFIS tape display, or the new Six-Pack.
I often fly without the Map (Hey! it's local flying and I know where I am!) And, without SynVis. So when Betty calls out TRAFFIC!, I'm left looking and button pushing faster than a card-cheat in Vegas.
#5 - the new Terrain button on Map. Great! Simply Great! It makes everything jump out with the dark background and become highly readable, instead of being washed out in the Topo's light colors. And - I can easily see the little airplane symbol, very hard to pick out in the previous map color scheme - and one of my prior gripes.
All in all, a great Upgrade on a Great System. I may not be the world's biggest Skyview Fan, but I'd be interested in meeting that person.....
