To Support,

The Skyview AP pitch servo installation for the RV10, will put it in very close proximity to my Belly Mounted Transponder Antenna. Only 2 inches between servo and external transponder antenna.

Is your AP Servo RFI and EMI compliant? Meaning they wont interfere with other RF units AND not susceptible to RF interference as well?

Thanks in advance.

You already suspect it to be an issue - move it, just to be sure ;D

However if you're using low loss coax (eg RG400) it shouldn't be a problem as the antenna is on the outside so the skin will act as a shield.

Hey Jake, move it  ;D that will leave 3 holes in my belly skin where the transponder antenna use to be. In addition I don't want to re-engineer the servo mount position either. So I guess here I'm going to have to install the Servo and hope for the best, if it turns out to be a problem then I will have to move transponder Antenna and fix the holes somehow.

Hence my question to Support about Servo EMI and RFI 'compliance'....

We've not had any issues that we know of with the servo in the RF area. Given the frequency and duration of transponder signals, I think you'll be OK. It hasn't been specifically tested or designed for though, and the 200W the transponder puts out does have a minor chance of causing issues. The biggest thing to do would be to keep the DSAB/SkyNet wires as far away from the transponder antenna as is feasible.
