The Skyview systems support stereo output.  I assume that this will be the primary output associated with warnings and alarms, plus future enhancements (playing MP3 files perhaps?).

What is the recommended intercom/audio panel wiring:   an unswitched stereo input; a switched (automuted) stereo input; or combine the L&R into a monophonic input (switched or unswitched)?

Thanks, Vern Little

We support mono and stereo configs. The L&R can be tied together if you wish. We might use stereo in the future for some neat things, but it's by no means a requirement.

The output is headphone level (it can drive headphones direct) so I don't think you want to go into a mic input. The output is about 12V P-P with only 30 ohms of impedance.

Generically, I'd suggest it into an automuted input. We have no sense of the radio being active or anything, so you probably don't want it talking over the top of the tower.

Hey if you're short of ideas, I can recommend a great usage for stereo - traffic!

"Approaching aircraft right 2 O'clock 3 miles at 3,000'...."

That would pull your head right over there!

I'm wiring the SVD1000 to intercom Flightcom 403LSA unswitched audio pin21.

I insert resistors 1/4 watt 220 Ohm in both left brown pin13 and right grey pin 31 DB37 connector and join together ton the unswitched audio connector of the intercom. (in a DB9 connector)
I connect the black pin30 audio ground to the avionic ground of intercom.

Need I the 2 resistors ?

The resistors aren't needed for the purposes of connecting the left and right channels together, if we're interpreting your question correctly.
