My Skyview takes over 20 minutes to start on its own. If I insert the USB thumb drive it starts normally, in about two minutes. Anyway to fix this?

Dave, I'd be deleting files you have on that thumb drive & reloading those you need. Your situation is not normal &, like Steve, I've never seen that either.

Can you expand on what it is doing during bootup for 20 minutes?
Maybe it is hung on a certain line? If so what is it?
I would reload your current firmware, see if that resolves the issue. It takes about 2-3 minutes to load up the screen and another 2-3 before my map database is loaded.
Back with v10 when I attempted to synch the screens with new database files each month it took about 20 minutes before the other screen finally completed. With v11 I do not not continue to have this issue. Could be a version fix or the fact that I loaded a new firmware.

So normal boot time is about 30ish seconds, with another small period of time until the map databases are fully loaded (I think it's under 30 seconds, but don't remember off the top of my head).

Now, if you've just loaded a high resolution terrain database, the NEXT boot only can take up to two minutes before you're looking at the main PFD/MAP/EMS SkyView screen.

All that said, what version of software are you on? We know that a few people are experiencing longer boots than they deserve after upgrading to 11.1, and we're currently looking into that. Does holding button 8 (the last button) while you boot change anything?
