There was some discussion on the RS232 topic about Skyview system interconnect.
I thought that I would repost my reply with a different title, and add various schematic pages for criticism/review by Dynon and others. The intent is to refine the designs, prevent wiring errors and provide future-proofing (such as reserving ports for future functions etc.).
Here's my first two contributions, showing the serial port interconnect that I am currently planning for the EFIS and the engine monitor connections.
The only unusual feature of the engine monitor connections is the configuration of the dimming circuit that I've used. In anticipation of a PWM output from the SV EFIS systems, I've built a driver that will buffer the PWM signal. Until Dynon supports the PWM output, the driver will automatically operate at full brightness.
