Hi all,

First post, new to Dynon via an experimental I bought earlier this year. Have been going through it and learning (so much learning!), updated a couple of components, cleaned up the wiring and so finally arrived at the point where it seemed appropriate to bring the firmware up to date.

The D1000 display took it on the first try, it's ready to go. The D700 goes through the update routine only to return to a screen full of red X's and, at reboot, it shows the old firmware as the installed revision. I've tried deleting the data logs, exporting the data logs, installing just the display update from a file upload, multiple new 32GB thumb drives, and direct installation of the thumb drive into the back of the panel. Nothing seems to work.

I'd be curious to hear if there are any other homebrew strategies for getting the display to take the update before I send it in for an $850 flat rate repair. I've been back and forth with tech support and they've tried to be helpful. In fact, they've been responding very quickly which I appreciate but sometimes the collective hive has suggestions that work.

Anyone? Thanks in advance.
Bart
