I have been successful in calibrating my Skyview compass (both on the ground and in the air) but after a few months it seems to loose its calibration and I have to do it all over again.
Is this normal? Any ideas?

What do you mean by loses it's calibration?

After a couple of months the little airplane on the screen shows up angled off the direction of travel and the indicated wind direction is not accurate

Does this happen gradually, or all of a sudden? Are you using only the ground calibration, or are you doing the in-flight calibration too? What GPS are you using?

I've had this happen many times. It show garbage winds and direction usually upwards of 90 knots. So far I haven't be able to determine any pattern or condition that would trigger this - it seems to be completely random. It always corrects itself after I perform an inflight calibration, however following the latest incident, I did nothing and during the next flight the calibration was correct again!
