Have there been any performance related hardware upgrades for the SkyView displays since release? Speed, memory, etc? With as long as the units have been out, I would think that hardware upgrades would be inevitable. true?

We make internal hardware changes all the time to support component end-of-life, manufacturability, and other things. This is the norm in long-lifespan electronics. As far as user experience goes, though, today's SkyView displays have all the same capabilities of any that have ever shipped. So while the underlying hardware changes a bit, we endeavor to not have 400 models of our products which are all incompatible with each other. Everything. Just. Works. If you had SkyView display #1 connected to #10,000, they're just happily fly you where you're going. In fact, we've actually only ever had two platforms - the D10/D100 series and SkyView, and we think that's a good thing for customers.

I know that doesn't answer your direct question, because we live in computer worlds where people understand processors and memory and other specs. But the real answer is that it's not the hardware which is the limitation on most things we're not yet doing - it's software.

Thank you for that. I've flown behind a GRT EFIS pair, and even 2 displays bought together have compatibility issues.

Let me take the the opportunity to reassure your best practices of careful feature addition, consistent UI, thorough test, and dedication to "Just Works". These are why I bought a SkyView. I'm sure so many others have the same thought!

Further, why I bought the Dynon map versus an Aera 500 (with many more features) is because of the cost to maintain the databases.

Keep it up, and you'll keep your customers as fans, a pretty tough thing to do. :)

Cheers
Bob
