I have an RV-10 with Dynon Skyview HDX and VP-X PRO. In the Dyon Skyview setup, I have FLAP Position, AILERON TRIM Position and ELEVATOR TRIM Position set to VP-X. In Dynon Skyview Sensor Data, I can see the position values for FLAPS and TRIM change as I move the FLAPS and TRIMS. The position sense wires for FLAPS and TRIMS are connected to the VP-X and NOT to the Skyview EMS.

The FLAPS and TRIMS move up and down, but I cannot get the Skyview Display to show the position at the indicators. When I did the installation, I thought that the VP-X indicated that the position data would be passed to the EMS indicator and based on this I did NOT connect the EMS sense wires (C37-P4 for Elev Position, C37-P22 for FLAPS Position, etc.).

What do I need to fix make the position indicators on the Skyview display work?

Thank you...

Sounds like you did not use the Skyview Calibration exercise to establish the trim numbers in Skyview.
Here was the instruction in the Skyview Installation Manual. (Section 7-69 in my version).

"Trim and flaps position potentiometers must be calibrated. Your SkyView display

utilizes onscreen wizards that help you do this. Go to the EMS Calibration Menu to

access these wizards (SETUP MENU > HARDWARE CALIBRATION > EMS

CALIBRATION).

The take-off position will be shown as a green line on the trim widget. If you do

not want this marking on your trim widget, press NONE during the take-off

position portion of the trim calibration."

As I recall once you follow those instructions, you will see the widgets come alive, provided you have placed the widgets onto your screen.

I did the calibration and the calibration worked. The flaps and trims move as calibrated and I can see the changes in value at the sensor debug for the flaps and the trims. I also have the widget on the screen, but the widget does not indication the position. I am sure that if I connect the sense lines from the Skyview EMS to potentiometer, that the widget will show the position, but the VP-X documentation indicates that if in the Skyview menu under VP-X Setup, I select VP-X for FLAPS and TRIM Position, that the widget should work. But it is not working (not indicating).

Thanks you...

I now have the FLAPS Position indicator working. I found an old posting from from Sep. 6, 2020 that states to remove the EMS FLAPS widget in the editor and then in the editor find a FLAPS selection. I found a selection FLAPS (1). I selected FLAPS Position (1) and now at the bottom of the HDX display, I get a numerical value for flaps position. -3% for reflex, 0%, 20% and 32%.

Will now work on the TRIM position indicators.

Thank you...
