We are using a Garmin 430 for NavCom1 and a Garmin SL30 for NavCom2. I think that the normal connection would be through the SkyView Network and the ARINC-429 module for both units, but I also see the capability of a Serial connection direct from the NavCom Units to the Serial Devises inputs. Do you connect just through the ARINC module or both the ANINC and the serial inputs. What would each contribute to the Displays if the both are correct??

The SL-30 doesn't have ARINC-429 at all, so you don't have that option.

You hook the 430 to the ARINC-429 module as described in the install document. You hook the Sl-30 to BOTH SkyView displays as described in the install docs. Hooked up in this way, all screens will have access to all data and will be redundant against any one screen failure.

Yep - Discovered that I had to use a RS-232 interface for the SL-30 today when I was working with the Pin-out for the SL-30. Will just use only the ARINC interface for the 430. Thanks for your help.
