Hi all,

I'm new to skyview and I am trying to enter the setup menu for skyview on my aircraft. The aircraft was built by a factory and I am wondering if they have put some sort of factory lock onto the skyview system? I'm not trying to change any engine sensor definitions etc but just change from expert to simple autopilot controls and change the look of the flight director to double cue, etc. Currently when I hold buttons 7 and 8 it pops up saying insert USB to enter setup menu, rather than entering the setup menu, and when I put a USB in, it only brings up the page where you can export onto the USB rather than the actual setup menu. Does anyone know how I can enter the full setup menu?

Many thanks,

Josh  :)

Josh,
That does indicate the system is locked by the aircraft manufacturer. The changes you are talking about do actually affect the certification basis of the aircraft, so you need to talk to them and see if they are willing to allow you to change it. If they are, they can send you a file that will change the things you want.

Hi, dynon support,

I am also new to the skyview as Josh and I was looking at our new planes today. Same problem I had was that I couldnt enter the setup menu but was guided directly to the system software menu after pressing button 7 and 8.
But I need to have some means of looking at the list of installed databases and licences which is situated under local display menu, under the setup menu! How to do this?

On systems that have OEM configuration and control, buttons 7/8 only let you load software, though you're right in that it would be better if it also let you see database status. One thing to know is that SkyView will let you know on startup, on the map page, whether any of your databases are expired. But, to get into the full setup menu in your configuration, hold button 7 while powering SkyView on. You still won't be able to change anything that the manufacturer has decided that it would like to have control of, but you'll be able to get into the deeper setup menu to see things like the installed databases.
