I have connected my SL-30 to my Skyview.  I have tried the configuration.  The Skyview does not see the SL-30.  Is this normal.  I have not flown the airplane with a valid Nav signal to see if it works.  I am thinking that the Skyview has to see the SL-30 on the network status page before it will decode the date.

You are on the wrong page---you need to set up the radio on the serial port setup page---see installation manual on page 4-12.

After you have the SL-30 talking to the Dynon, then you have to select the navsource (see user manual---somewhere around 4-4.

Serial NAV and GPS devices do not get detected by the SkyView Network - they are set up manually in the serial port setup area. See the manual for details on this step.

For ANY serial device to feed the HSI, you must be running the latest version of firmware - 2.0, which was just released a couple of weeks ago.

Finally, note that since the SL30 is just a NAV radio, it does not send time to SkyView. For time, you'll need a NMEA GPS source - basically any Garmin/Lowwrance/similar portable, or the Dynon 5Hz GPS puck.
