SL30 OBS in LOC/ILS mode

I have a SL30 connected directly to a D100 (no HS34) - OBS selection on the SL30 works in VOR/LOC mode (makes changes on the HSI as expected) but not in ILS mode. Why ??

Do we have to have an HS34 ?

This is a limitation of the SL30 and works that way with anyone's products that interface with the SL30.

An ILS/LOC actually has no OBS so you must set your course before making a LOC frequency active on the SL30.

You can manually set the course from the D100 by using the buttons....
