I loaded V16 and am somewhat disappointed there are no improvements supporting Avidyne IFD products.
Since Dynon does not make a IFR navigator they are at a disadvantage to G. G products are much more able to share weather, traffic, ADS-B, radio tuning, etc. between their IFR navigator display and PFD's.
Seems like a Capstone (GDL-90) serial output would be a easy to accomplish output. It is an open source protocol.

For the life of me I don't understand wanting to put that data on the small screens when you have it available right there on the large one. The data presented, even on the larger 540 Avidyne, would just be too cluttered to be really useful, in my opinion.

Having the large EFIS displays actually pushes people to install smaller and cheaper IFR navigators, since they don't need the displays on the navigators for flight planning - the navigator assumes an FMS role and the large EFIS screen displays all the data visually. The only difference (other than sticker shock) between the Garmin 430W and 530W is screen size - which becomes a moot point with an HDX screen in front of you. Same for the Avidyne 440/540.

I would be just as happy to have a remotely mounted navigator without any panel presence at all - just interface with the HDX to input the waypoints and routing.

I get all my ads-b data, traffic, everything on my Dynon from the Dynon GPS. My Garmin GPS175 talks to the Dynon for IFR navigation, what else do I need it for? Dynon does everything but IFR. I wish they did but oh well. Toss a box in you're good to go.
