Software version

I have installed my panel with the D100 EFIS. I am in the process of checking it out and noticed my software version is 1.08. Do I need to update the softare?
Also, is there an easy way to know if the D100 is communicating with the remote compass EDC-10?
Same question for the Garmin 296 GPS?

1.08 is a few versions out. Generically, we'd recommend updating for best performance and the latest features.

If your EFIS-D100 has a heading tape across the top of the unit, it's talking to the EDC-D10A. Wave a magnet around the compass to confirm (you should see a heading change).

If the GPS is connected to the serial port, you should see magenta data on the HSI screen when you have a satellite lock on the GPS.
